HabitTrade today announced the launch of Stove Protocol, an open-source, non-profit protocol that enables the on-chain representation of real U.S. equities backed 1:1 by shares held in regulated brokerage custody.
Stove Protocol provides permissionless smart contracts for mapping listed equities on-chain. The protocol is infrastructure-only and does not operate a trading platform or charge protocol-level fees.
HabitTrade said tokenized equities should reflect real ownership rather than synthetic price exposure, and that Stove is designed to provide developers and platforms with a standardized way to connect on-chain applications with actual spot equities.
Tokens issued under Stove are designed to preserve core economic interests associated with equity ownership, including dividend entitlements and asset claims.
HabitTrade added that the launch of Stove Protocol aligns with the company’s broader effort to connect traditional capital markets with blockchain-based financial infrastructure in a compliant and responsible manner.
