The Enforcers of Good Governance have stressed the importance of ensuring that Nigerians at the grassroots are fully aware of the economic empowerment initiatives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
According to the group, such awareness is crucial for citizens to appreciate the President’s extensive efforts to reposition Nigeria after years of decadence and systemic decay.
The Convener and Chief Enforcer, Dr. Kingsley Ogu, noted that the Enforcers of Good Governance adopted a creative approach by blending sportsmanship with political advocacy, using sports as a unifying force to bring communities together while spotlighting the Renewed Hope Agenda and its contributions to both local and national development.
He explained that this was the motivation behind the novelty football match held during the weekend in Ogbogu Town, Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State, emphasizing that the primary objective was to deepen community engagement, promote awareness of government policies, and mobilize grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
According to him, such activities not only provide entertainment but also serve as platforms for dialogue, mobilization, and reinforcing the shared vision of a more prosperous Nigeria.
Represented by Promise Otto, the Chief Enforcer described the event as a symbolic tribute to President Tinubu’s leadership.
He lauded the administration for its bold and strategic policy directions and its commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians, particularly through infrastructure renewal, economic reforms, and sports development.
“Sports remain one of the most powerful tools for grassroots engagement and national unity,” Ogu said, emphasizing the importance of creating opportunities for young people to contribute positively to their communities.
The spectators were treated to a mix of football, music, and cultural displays, underscoring the unifying potential of such gatherings.
The football match, staged at Dr. Ogu’s country home, featured the Enforcers Football Team against a selection of Rivers State celebrities which ended in favour of the Enforcers with a 6-1 victory.
Ogu further revealed that the novelty match formed part of the group’s wider grassroots mobilization strategy in the build-up to President Tinubu’s expected 2027 re-election bid.
He stressed that beyond the political dimension, the event aimed to foster civic responsibility and inspire citizens to play active roles in shaping Nigeria’s democratic journey.
“For the Enforcers of Good Governance, the day’s event was more than just sport, it was a demonstration of how communities can come together, celebrate shared values, and rally behind a common vision for the future,” he said.
