A major investigation has been launched after the “suspicious” death of a woman inside a unit in Sydney’s west on New Year’s Eve.
Emergency services were called to a unit on Enid Ave in Granville shortly after 12pm on Wednesday after reports of a concern for welfare.
Upon arrival, police entered the unit and located the body of a woman.
She has not yet been formally identified, but is believed to be aged in her 40s.

Police have established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The woman’s death is being treated as suspicious.
