KOTA KINABALU: The State Government has reaffirmed its full support for Kota Kinabalu City Hall’s (DBKK) development direction, which emphasises good governance, balanced growth and people-centred policies aligned with the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) framework, said Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister Datuk Joniston Bangkuai.
Speaking at the 26th anniversary celebration of Kota Kinabalu City at the DBKK building compound here, Joniston said the city’s development must be aligned with the broader State agenda, as progress in the capital directly affects investor confidence, visitor experience, quality of life and Sabah’s image.

Mayor Datuk Seri Sabin Samitah said DBKK is implementing its Enterprise Architecture Master Plan with the assistance of Universiti Malaysia Sabah to support evidence-based decision-making, long-term cost savings and Smart City transformation, including its Early Adopter status under the Malaysia Smart City Rating.
