Jakarta. Indonesian tech conglomerate GoTo Gojek Tokopedia clarified on Wednesday that it has not yet made any merger decision or agreement with regional ride-hailing rival Grab, following media speculation over a potential tie-up between the two Southeast Asian giants.

“In response to recent media speculation regarding a potential transaction between PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk and Grab, GoTo would like to clarify that, as of now, no decision or agreement has been made in relation to the matter,” said R.A. Koesoemohadiani, Director of Legal and Group Corporate Secretary at GoTo, in an official statement.

She added that any future corporate action would comply fully with Indonesia’s public company regulations and prioritize long-term shareholder value while safeguarding the interests of driver-partners, MSME partners, customers, and all stakeholders.

GoTo also underscored that the company is currently in its strongest financial position in years, backed by a clear strategic direction and steady progress toward sustainable profitability.

In its public filing in late October, GoTo reported a pre-tax profit of Rp 62 billion ($3.4 million) for the third quarter of 2025, marking the group’s first-ever profit since its formation through the merger of Gojek and Tokopedia.

Koesoemohadiani further clarified that the upcoming extraordinary general meeting of shareholders is unrelated to “any planned corporate actions,” adding that official details will be shared in line with disclosure regulations once invitations are issued on November 25.

“The CEO, Board of Directors, and management remain fully committed to acting professionally and in the best interests of the company and all stakeholders,” she added.

Reaffirming GoTo’s national roots, Koesoemohadiani highlighted the company’s support for government initiatives to strengthen Indonesia’s digital ecosystem.

“As a technology company founded and grown in Indonesia, GoTo remains committed to supporting and complying with government policies aimed at building an efficient, fair, and sustainable industry for all stakeholders — including driver-partners, MSMEs, and consumers,” she said. “GoTo is committed to always supporting the government’s direction.”
