In the wake of a viral kiss cam catastrophe and a double resignation scandal, data automation firm Astronomer has decided to fight PR fire with Gwyneth Paltrow
Yes, the wellness queen, Oscar winner, and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin’s ex-wife has officially been crowned Astronomer’s “very temporary” spokesperson. This comes after CEO Andy Byron and head of HR Kristin Cabot were caught at a Coldplay concert — on camera, no less — promptly exiting the company and handing the internet a full-blown scandal with a neatly ironic bow on top.
Rather than hide behind press releases and damage control, Astronomer leaned in hard. In a self-aware video posted Friday, Paltrow addresses the 300-strong staff, calmly declaring Astronomer the best place to run Apache Airflow.
The company is also reminding everyone they’re still hosting their “Beyond Analytics” event this September — because what better way to move on from the HR scandal than some machine learning and AI pipeline talk?
And just to make this a perfectly ridiculous tech-world fever dream, let’s not forget: Coldplay’s Chris Martin, whose concert set the whole chain of events in motion, is Paltrow’s former husband. Which means, depending on your perspective, this is either poetic PR genius or an awkward family group chat waiting to happen.
