The 2026 Awards Season has officially kicked off with the 83rd annual Golden Globes. The annual award show highlights the year in film and television. New this year is the debut of the best podcast category, which nominees include “Good Hang with Amy Poehler,” “Up First from NPR,” and “Call Her Daddy,” among others.
As the stars made their way onto the red carpet at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, fans took to social media to share their reactions to all of the iconic, memeworthy and notable moments ahead of the awards ceremony.
Leave it to the “Dancing with the Stars” pro turned judge to know how to strike a pose on the red carpet. Derek Hough’s jump had fans drawing comparisons with Hollywood legend Gene Kelly, of “Singing in the Rain.”
Wunmi Mosaku was glowing on the red carpet as she announced her pregnancy. The “Sinners” star is expecting her second child. “Wunmi Mosaku is legitimately GLOWING on the carpet tonight. She looks so happy and I’m happy for her!” wrote one user.
“Heated Rivarly” has become the talk of the town. Since the series debuted last November, the show’s cast, including Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie, has become a sensation online in their late-night talk show appearances and interviews. The show follows two hockey rivals who face an unexpected challenge when they develop feelings for one another.
While the series wasn’t nominated for a Golden Globe award this year, fans were ecstatic when they found out Williams and Storrie would be at the award show. One moment that had fans squealing online was Williams’ interview with Gayle King, which included playing table hockey and a cheeky comment. King brought up how so many were eager to see them at a party the night before, and that all she could hear in the crowd was “they’re coming, they’re coming,” to which Williams responded, “yeah, we do that a lot.”
Fans couldn’t get enough of the interaction online, with one user writing, “I AM SCREAMING!!!! HUDSON WILLIAMS NO YOU DID NOT!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!” and another saying, “Hudson Williams really will say any damn thing he wants in an interview and I love that for him/us.”
“Wicked” and “Wicked: For Good” director Jon M. Chu found a unique way to showcase the leading ladies of his films. The director wore custom brooches of Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande. Chu shared on social media that the custom pins were made by Tiffany Pisani, @nerdbead, whom he found on Instagram. “Jon M Chu wearing Cynthia and Ariana broaches is the cutest sweetest chicest most adorable thing in the universe, I’m emo!!!!!” wrote a user.
Speaking of Ariana Grande, fans were also excited to see the return of her signature brunette ponytail after the actress went blonde a few years ago to play the iconic Glinda Upland in the “Wicked” films.
