Sharpen Your Wilderness Skills This September at Campbell County Public Library!
Saturday, September 27, 8am-12pm
SATURDAY CLASS LOCATION (do not come to the library): Red Rock Trails Area, 11 Northern Drive
Field Exercise: Put the lessons to the test!
Gather at the parking lot. Participants can bring outdoor gear to try and we will review the Navigation, Signaling, First Aid and Man-tracking that we have discussed in the Thursday evening classes. Participants should dress for the weather and bring water.
Join us at your library for a series of Thursday evening workshops presented by the Campbell County Sheriff’s Posse Search and Rescue Team! Four weekly hands-on training classes lead up to a final Saturday morning Field Exercise & Mock Search.
Thursdays, 6:30pm:
Workshops are designed for those with limited skills but some familiarity with the topics — perfect for building confidence and preparing for the final field day. All sessions build toward the final Saturday mock search, but attendance at every class is not required. Attend one, some, or all sessions!

Bars: The Monkey — Towers West — Fireside — Wyoming Down — The Eagles — Grinners (Final Stop)
Teams: 4 people per team (1 designated driver required)
At 4:00 PM, we’ll go over rules, hand out your scorecards, and get the party started with the first round of shots. You’ll be released into the wild to hit four bars (in no order) and complete 2000s-inspired challenges for points — from awkward Myspace selfies to karaoke throwbacks that would make Usher proud.
Once you’ve conquered the ones you can, head to Grinners for your final tasks, trivia, and the last chance to rack up points.
⏳ Teams must be back to Grinners by 6:45 PM sharp.
The team with the highest score wins bragging rights, prizes, and ultimate Y2K glory.
So grab your flip phone (or, fine… your iPhone), channel your inner early-2000s icon, and get ready to make memories you’ll only vaguely remember. There will be pizza and brat specials after the event as well for all the teams!
