Donald Trump has sent an ominous message to Grammys host Trevor Noah, threatening to sue him over a joke he made about the US President and Jeffrey Epstein.
Noah, who was hosting the Grammys for the sixth time, took a number of swipes at Mr Trump throughout the evening — but it was one about his association with disgraced financier and convicted paedophile Epstein that could cost him dearly.
Noah made the crack after congratulating Billie Eilish for winning Song of the Year for her single Wildflower.
“Wow. That’s a Grammy that every artist wants — almost as much as Trump wants Greenland,” he said.
“Which makes sense because, since Epstein’s gone, he needs a new island to hang out with Bill Clinton.”
Mr Trump wasted little time in taking to his social media platform, Truth Social, to bite back.
“The Grammy Awards are the WORST, virtually unwatchable! CBS is lucky not to have this garbage litter their airwaves any longer,” he said.
“The host, Trevor Noah, whoever he may be, is almost as bad as Jimmy Kimmel at the Low Ratings Academy Awards.
“Noah said, INCORRECTLY about me, that Donald Trump and Bill Clinton spent time on Epstein Island. WRONG!!!
“I can’t speak for Bill, but I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close, and until tonight’s false and defamatory statement, have never been accused of being there, not even by the Fake News Media.”
Mr Trump went on to call Noah a “LOSER”, saying he’d “better get his facts straight, and get them straight fast”.
“It looks like I’ll be sending my lawyers to sue this poor, pathetic, talentless, dope of an M.C., and suing him for plenty$,” he said.
“Get ready Noah, I’m going to have some fun with you!”
Epstein died by suicide in his jail cell in 2019 after being arrested on Federal sex trafficking charges.
His association with former prince Andrew led to King Charles dramatically stripping his brother of his royal titles.
Mr Trump has been named repeatedly in the Epstein files, with photographs released of the two of them together in the years before Esptein was found dead in a US jail cell.
He has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.
