Are you a news junkie who wants the latest news now especially when a big story is breaking.
binge customers are set to get free access to some of the world’s biggest global news services with a decision to switch what used to be news streaming platforms on their paid-for Flash service to binge.
From 16 December, NBC News NOW, Sky News Extra and Sky News Weather news channels will be added to binge providing even more value to subscribers.
This will give subscribers access to an additional 25,000+ hours of news content across the year and bring the total number of news channels on the platform to 13.
The move to expand news service allows Foxtel to expand news access with an expansive line-up of local and international news and lifestyle content.
binge aims to become a one-stop streaming service for popular entertainment, lifestyle and reality shows, and live news from Australia and around the globe.
The new news channels join 10 popular live news channels already on binge, including Al Jazeera English, Bloomberg News, CNBC, CNN International, FOX SPORTS News, GB News, MS NOW, NHK World Japan, Sky News Australia and Sky News UK.
With the consolidation of popular news channels on binge, Foxtel Group will retire its dedicated FLASH news streaming service in February 2026.
In addition, with Australian and international lifestyle and reality shows already on binge, including Selling Houses Australia, Love It or List It Australia and The Great Australian Bake Off, the LifeStyle streaming service will also retire in February 2026.
Hilary Perchard, CEO of Foxtel, Kayo Sports and binge, said: “These changes make sense for all subscribers. For binge subscribers, they receive more value and choice with a larger selection of live news channels. For our FLASH and LifeStyle subscribers, they now have their news and lifestyle together in one place, alongside the world’s best movies, TV shows and documentaries.
“By simplifying our apps, we can also accelerate improvements to the binge customer experience by leveraging our parent company DAZN’s technology platform and product development capabilities.
“At a time when subscribers want greater simplicity and more value, these are the right changes at the right time,” he said.
As part of Black Friday, new and returning binge customers can get any binge package for just $2 for one month. The offer will expire on 8 December 2025.
