An investigation has been launched into a serious assault that happened in a north Dublin park only hours before a concert.
The incident is understood to have happened in Dublin’s Fairview Park at around 5pm on Friday ahead of Dec Pierce’s Block Rockin’ Beats gig. It happened near the green footbridge over the Tolka River at the entrance to the park.
Locals reported a garda vehicle at the scene with the area taped off. There were no reports of disruption to the gig which kicked off at around 8pm.
A garda spokeswoman said: “Gardaí are investigating an alleged serious assault that is reported to have occurred in Dublin 3 this afternoon, Friday 27th June 2025. Investigations are ongoing.”
