An on-duty Garda motorcyclist has been hospitalised following a collision with a car in south Dublin this morning.
The incident happened on the Churchtown Road Upper, Dundrum shortly before 10am. The Garda member was taken to Tallaght University Hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.
Welfare supports have been made available to the Garda by local management. No other injuries are reported.
The road which had been closed for a period of time has since reopened to traffic. Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.
A garda spokesperson said: “Road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) who were in the area between 9:30am and 10:00am this morning, 19th August 2025, are asked to make it available to investigating Gardaí.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Blackrock Garda Station on (01) 6665200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station. Investigations are ongoing.”
