After eight long years of relentless effort, Bharti has cleared the 2023 Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) examination, securing her place as a Block Development Officer in the Panchayat and Rural Development Department.
Born into a modest family, Bharti’s father works as a sub-engineer and her mother is a housewife. After completing her Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Computer Science from Gwalior, Bharti’s ambitions took a different turn. While her degree opened doors to a career in technology, her heart was set on serving the public through the civil services.
She moved to Delhi to begin her civil services preparation, later relocating to Indore to focus more intensively.
Enduring failures, embracing lessons
Bharti began her MPPSC journey in 2017. She cleared the prelims and mains in her very first attempt but couldn’t make it past the interview. What followed was a series of disappointments — five interviews, six failed attempts, and countless hours of preparation.
Yet, every failure became a stepping stone. “There were days when I wanted to give up,” Bharti recalls. “But my parents always reminded me that girls must stand on their own feet. Their faith in me kept me going.”
Her persistence paid off when she finally cleared the 2023 MPPSC exam — scoring 702.50 marks in the mains and 124 in the interview.
A quiet success that sparked inspiration
When the MPPSC announced the final results on November 8, 2025, Bharti’s name appeared among 197 successful candidates. The list also included 24 Deputy Collectors and 19 DSPs. Bharti says she was “more surprised than happy” to see her name on the list, describing the moment as surreal.
Now appointed as a Block Development Officer, Bharti will serve under the Panchayat and Rural Development Department. Her story, marked by courage, patience, and resilience, is now motivating countless other aspirants across Madhya Pradesh.
For Bharti, success is not the destination but a milestone. Her next goal is to become a Deputy Collector. She plans to appear for the 2025 State Services Mains with renewed determination.
