FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — The City of Fort Wayne Public Works Division has launched TRECtheFort.com, a new website aimed at improving communication with the public about road restrictions and closures in Fort Wayne and nearby areas.
This tool, an interactive map, will serve as the main source for information on road restrictions, replacing traditional press releases for all but major planned events.
The TREC website features an interactive map that shows the locations of road restrictions and detour routes. It provides details such as lane restrictions or closures, event durations, activities like construction or maintenance, and contact information for contractors or departments involved.
Residents can sign up for a daily email bulletin that offers the same information as the TREC site. These emails can be customized to cover updates for the entire city or specific city quadrants.
The City is also working on integrating this information into the Waze mapping app to help drivers plan their routes more effectively.
