Whether it’s a missed call, a short SMS, or an online portal — learn the complete process of ‘Know Your UAN’ and regain complete control over your retirement funds. For employed people, Provident Fund (PF) is not just a government deduction, but the biggest bulwark of financial security. This fund not only meets unexpected needs during your job but also guarantees a respectable life after retirement.

It’s natural to feel anxious if you lose it, but technology has now made it incredibly easy to recover it.

Even if you don’t have a smartphone or have slow internet, you can still check your UAN number. This EPFO service is available 24/7.
Missed Call Service
Simply give a missed call to 011-22901406 from your registered mobile number. The call will automatically disconnect after two rings, and within a few moments, you will receive an SMS with your UAN number and latest balance.
Via SMS
Go to your phone’s message box and type: EPFOHO UAN. Send it to 7738299899. If you prefer information in your language, you can change the code (e.g., EPFOHO UAN HIN for Hindi).
If you want to view your complete details online, follow the steps below:
Step 1: First, visit the EPFO’s official unified portal.
Step 2: Click on the “Know Your UAN” option in the bottom right corner of the homepage.
Step 3: Enter your registered mobile number and the captcha code displayed on the screen, then click ‘Request OTP’.
Step 4: Verify your identity by entering the OTP received on your phone.
Step 5: Now, enter your name, date of birth, and Aadhaar or PAN number.
Step 6: Finally, click on “Show My UAN,” and your number will appear on the screen.
Sometimes, our UAN is with us, but we just can’t see it. Whenever your company deposits PF into your account, you receive a message on your phone — check that message. Furthermore, your UAN number is also mandatory on your monthly salary slip. If you’ve left your previous company, you can also check emails from your former HR or offer letter; this information is often available there.
