Seedless login and integrated fiat on-ramps aim to lower barriers, boosting Flare’s growing DeFi ecosystem and liquidity.
Flare, the data-focused Layer 1 blockchain, has launched Luminite, a seedless, non-custodial wallet designed to simplify decentralized finance for XRP holders and first-time users, accelerating growth in its DeFi ecosystem.
Simplified Wallet Setup
Luminite uses Turnkey’s technology, allowing users to create a crypto wallet in seconds with familiar login options such as email, biometrics, or passkeys. This approach removes the need for traditional seed phrases, which can be complicated for beginners.
The wallet provides an app-like experience while users maintain control over their assets. New users can add funds through integrated fiat on-ramps like Topper, enabling them to buy digital assets, including FLR and XRP, quickly.
“Luminite was built with one goal in mind: to bridge the gap between Web2 and Web3 users,” says Steve Chadwick, Co-founder of Luminite. “This is about making DeFi approachable, not just for the crypto-native, but for the next wave of users discovering blockchain through real utility.”
Direct Access to Flare’s DeFi
Beyond simplifying the onboarding process, Luminite wallet provides users with direct access to Flare’s growing DeFi ecosystem. Through the wallet, users can delegate their FLR tokens to the network’s native data providers, such as the Flare Time Series Oracle (FTSO).
Additionally, Luminite allows users to mint FXRP using the FAssets system, swap tokens, and bridge assets across different blockchains via Stargate. The wallet also supports liquid staking by enabling users to mint sFLR on Sceptre, all without leaving the app.
DeFi Activity Rising
DeFi activity on the Flare network has seen growth, with increasing user participation and a rise in total value locked (TVL) across its protocols.
As of August 2025, Flare’s DeFi ecosystem boasts a TVL exceeding $151 million, with stablecoins comprising roughly $129 million of that sum.
Much of this growth comes from the introduction of USD₮0, a cross-chain version of Tether, which has helped boost liquidity across the network.
Flare also announced a Learn & Earn program with Revolut to encourage new users to explore the Flare ecosystem through education and rewards.
“DeFi should be accessible to everyone,” said Max Luck, Head of Growth at Flare. “Luminite not only enables seedless login, but makes the first five minutes of DeFi feel like a TradFi app — without compromising control or security.”
Luminite is now available at luminite.app, providing a simplified entry point for those interested in exploring DeFi on Flare.
Why This Matters
Luminite aims to reduce the complexity involved in accessing DeFi, potentially attracting a broader range of users beyond experienced crypto holders.
