BetKing’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of KingMakers, Gossy Ukanwoke, joined thought leaders, policymakers, and innovators at 2025 Technology and Innovation Summit organised by National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP) on Victoria Island, Lagos.
With the theme: “Harnessing R&D and Innovation Potentials of Nigeria’s STI Ecosystem,” the summit convened experts across sectors to deliberate on the nation’s science, technology, and innovation future.
At a session: “Rethinking Talent Development in the Era of AI & Emerging Tech,” Ukanwoke shared insight on how organisations like BetKing reimagining workforce development in response to artificial intelligence, automation, and emerging technologies are transforming industries globally.
He emphasised importance of continuous learning and upskilling in today’s changing digital landscape. He noted that as artificial intelligence and emerging technologies reshape industries, individuals and organisations must evolve to be competitive and relevant.
According to him, the future of work will be defined by adaptability, creativity, and ability to learn skills, urging employers and employees to invest in capacity building and digital literacy to meet realities of the modern workplace.
“In this era of AI and rapid digital evolution, our greatest advantage is people — their creativity, adaptability, and capacity to learn. The future belongs to organisations that empower talent with right tools, mindset, and purpose to grow with technology.”
Ukanwoke highlighted that the discussion explored how AI and emerging technologies are reshaping future of work and the skills required to be relevant.
He emphasised the need for organisations to create agile and inclusive talent pipelines that prioritise upskilling, mentorship, and digital literacy.
According to him, building such ecosystems would ensure that Nigerian youth, women, and under-represented groups are not left behind in the evolving digital economy.
He also noted that the panel examined how corporate organizations, academia, and government can collaborate to strengthen Nigeria’s innovation capacity and build a future-ready workforce. Drawing from BetKing’s experience, Ukanwoke shared real-world examples of how the company integrates technology with talent development to drive both business growth and social impact.
Ukanwoke reaffirmed BetKing’s commitment to continuous learning and innovation, stating that this philosophy goes beyond business goals. It serves as a blueprint for how Nigerian companies can prepare their workforce for the opportunities presented by the global digital economy.
