
COEUR d’ALENE, Idaho – The City of Coeur d’Alene announced four finalists in its search for the next Chief of Police.
The finalists are El Monte Police Department Chief Jake Fisher, Coeur d’Alene Police Department Temporary Chief Dave Hagar, former Spokane Police Department Chief Craig Meidl and Fort Collins Police Services Deputy Chief Greg Yeager.
The City said candidates received an evaluation process and a round of interviews, which led to the selection of these four.
The four finalists will advance to in-person interviews with partnering agencies, community leaders, City staff and elected officials on March 12, 2026.
“Hiring the right Police Chief is one of the most significant decisions a City Administrator can make. The Chief sets the tone for accountability, integrity, and trust between members of the department, the rest of the City team, community partnerships, and the citizens.” City Administrator Ron Jacobson said. “The citizens of Coeur d’Alene deserve a Chief who will uphold our City’s tradition of excellence while continuing to strengthen public trust and public safety.”
