FBI Director Kash Patel Confirms Text Messages and Other Evidence Point to A Specific Target
Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel announced Monday that his agency has obtained a chain of text messages where a man named Tyler Robinson allegedly told a friend he planned to kill Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.
During an appearance on “Fox & Friends,” Patel stated the FBI received a significant amount of cellular information, including the text messages between Robinson and his live-in partner, Lance Twiggs, “in record time.”
In the messages, Robinson allegedly expressed a desire to kill Kirk due to what he described as a “hatred” for the conservative activist’s views.

“He, the suspect, had a text message exchange with another individual in which he claimed that he had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and he was going to do it because of his hatred for what Charlie stood for,” Patel said.
Patel did not say why the other person in the text exchange did not report the alleged threat to authorities, but he did assure the public that the investigation is ongoing.
He confirmed that the FBI has already spoken with several of Robinson’s family members and friends, including his partner. According to the FBI, family members reported that Robinson had embraced a far-left ideology and had grown increasingly hateful in recent years.

The FBI director also revealed that there is forensic evidence indicating Robinson wrote a now-destroyed note stating he was going to take the opportunity to kill Kirk. The investigation is also expected to include interviews with several individuals who were in a Discord chat with Robinson.
According to Discord messages obtained by The New York Times, Robinson’s friends in the group chat confronted him after his photo appeared in news reports, with one user writing, “Tyler killed Charlie!!!!”
Robinson reportedly responded by claiming a “doppelganger” was trying to get him in trouble.
Patel emphasized his commitment to transparency, stating, “I believe in this instance of such public importance the public has a right to know and I told you I’m committed to transparency and that’s what I’m doing here today.”
