
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Fallen trees from Tuesday night’s storms are continuing to impact commuters on Wednesday morning.
On Fairburn Road NW near Argus Circle, a large tree crashed onto the roadway. A man drove into the branches, causing front-end damage to his car.
The man told Atlanta News First he didn’t realize the tree was on the road until it was too late. His car was towed away, and the man wasn’t hurt.

Meanwhile in Midtown by Ethel Street NW and Snyder Street NW, a large branch toppled onto the road, hitting power lines on its way down. The road remains closed as crews clean up the debris.
Those weren’t the only trees to fall during the storms that swept through metro Atlanta on Tuesday afternoon. On Ivy Spring Drive in Smyrna, a massive tree came crashing through a home, tearing a hole in the roof and flattening a fence.
Street flooding was also a concern. Near Howell Mill Road on Chattahoochee Avenue, the high waters triggered slowdowns and almost submerged some cars.
Despite the chaos, no injuries were reported.
