In this age of AI, now more than ever, fake news and propaganda are all over the Internet. If you don’t tread carefully enough, you’ll find yourself on the receiving end of false information, and the worst case is that you might actually end up believing it.

Common targets for fake-news peddlers are government policies, and the latest victim is the Land Transportation Office. There’s apparently a video circulating online about the new rules for the driver’s licenses of senior citizens. The LTO has called this out as fake news and clarified that the supposed guidelines are not true.

The fake video discusses new medical requirements and stricter renewal processes for seniors. It also supposedly mentions new validity periods for senior citizens’ licenses. The LTO has made no such changes to its current guidelines.
