Some Fair City fans predict a new romance is on the way with two Carrigstown favourites.
In recent times, we’ve seen lots of love and lust in Fair City – between Erica and Doug getting engaged, Mairead and Dean starting an affair behind each other’s back and Sash and Maxine become more than friends.
But now, fans believe another relationship is on the way – with Sean Cassidy and Nikki Duff.

Sean, played by longtime cast member Ryan Andrews, has famously been unlucky in love on the show and has had a string of failed relationships.
Nikki, meanwhile, has rubbed a lot of people up the wrong way with her hard exterior since arriving in Carrigstown.
Now that the unlikely duo are spending a lot of time together living with Cass, some fans are speculating if love could blossom between them.
One viewer asked on social media: “Who thinks Nikki and Sean would make a great couple?”
“Looks like it’s going that way,” a second agreed.
A third person shared: “Didn’t like her first but she’s growing on me.”
“Nikki has become nicer but she’s always trying to save a buck, to me it seems like she takes advantage of Sean,” a fourth wrote.
But some fans are against the idea of Sean and Nikki becoming a couple.
One soap fan said: “God forbid. Sean is too nice for her . She’d eat him for brekkie!!”
“She’s too bossy for Sean,” remarked another.
While one fan pointed out: “Definitely not, I’m sure she’s a nice girl but not for Sean.”
In scenes this week, however, Sean has been left feeling hurt by Nikki.
He has been following extreme saving methods to save up some extra money, but was upset when he overheard Nikki mocking his frugality to Cass and the kids.
Will they be able to kiss and make up? And is love really on the horizon for them?
Viewers will have to keep watching to find out.
