After deciding late that he wanted a career in sports journalism, Daniel worked his way up the ladder in an unconventional manner.
Having opted against university, Daniel worked with Sky Sports as a freelance contributor and translator during transfer windows while also volunteering on several other blog pages and outlets to get a portfolio of content together.
Daniel then worked with Barnet FC as part of their social media team before, starting his own website which focused on football and MMA content.
That eventually led to work with 90min and Reach PLC with The Mirror, Daily Record, Daily Express and Manchester Evening News. Following that Daniel spent two-and-a-half years with Breaking Media covering Everton, Rangers, Leeds, West Ham and other clubs before joining GIVEMESPORT as a Premier League editor.
As well as football, Daniel is a huge MMA fan and has appeared on YouTube and podcast content too.
Tottenham Hotspur made an attempt to sign RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande this month alongside their deal for Conor Gallagher, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Lilywhites have had a tough campaign so far under manager Thomas Frank, who replaced Ange Postecoglou in the summer and has come under pressure for his job already after a string of poor results, including being eliminated from the FA Cup in the third round by Aston Villa.
But the board are clearly behind the Dane as they make moves in the transfer market to strengthen his squad this month, signing Conor Gallagher and agreeing a deal for left-back Souza, and it has now emerged that they have already made a blockbuster move for one of the most wanted players on the continent.
Tottenham Tried to Sign Yan Diomande This Month
Diomande, who has emerged as one of the most exciting wingers in Europe with his performances for RB Leipzig this season, is one of the players that Spurs have made a top target to strengthen their attack.
Spurs aren’t alone with their interest, however, with both Man Utd and Liverpool having been strongly linked too. But Leipzig are adamant they won’t sell the Ivorian this month, and are instead holding out for a mega deal in the summer.
But speaking in his latest YouTube video, Fabrizio Romano revealed that didn’t stop the north London club from trying to get a deal done this month, but they were shut down by the Bundesliga side.
“Yan Diomande, this fantastic, electric winger from Red Bull Leipzig. Well, the message from Leipzig is that Diomande will not leave the club in the January window. They want to keep the player,” he said.
“Eventually, in the summer, it;s going to be a different story, because Man United are sending their people to follow him. Paris Saint-Germain are sending their people to follow him. Bayern [Munich] are sending their people to follow him.
“Tottenham already tried for this January window. It was not possible.
“So there’s going to be plenty of interest for Yan Diomande, one of the most interesting wingers in the market right now. But for January, Leipzig want to continue with the player.”
Diomande to Spurs Highly Unlikely
While Spurs will try their very hardest to get a deal for Diomande over the line in the summer, the chances of him choosing them over other clubs is highly unlikely.

Some of the top clubs in Europe are showing a strong interest, and they all have a great record of developing young forwards, which will undoubtedly appeal to him and his future.
Spurs tried their luck to get ahead of the competition and agree a deal in advance, but Leipzig know they could potentially start a bidding war in the summer so held firm, and that now means Tottenham’s chances in the race have fallen off a cliff.
