Experience the magic of the season at Heritage Farmstead: Make holiday memories with Lights on the Farm

The glow of twinkling lights, the scent of cinnamon and laughter across the fields means one thing: Heritage Farmstead’s Lights on the Farm is back.

Each holiday season, Plano’s Heritage Farmstead Museum transforms into a nostalgic winter wonderland, inviting families to stroll beneath glowing tunnels, sip hot chocolate by the fire and make timeless memories.

“We’re excited to welcome guests back for our fifth annual Lights on the Farm,” President and CEO M’Lou Hyttinen said. “It has become a special tradition in Plano. Families come from multiple states and countries to celebrate with us.”

The 2025 event runs from Nov. 28-Dec. 28, open Thursday to Sunday from 6-9 p.m., and closed Monday to Wednesday except during Christmas week.

Guests love the themed nights at Lights on the Farm, with more this year. Returning favorites include the Grinch, Princesses, Superheroes and Stormtroopers, while new appearances from Toy Story, Bluey and Paw Patrol characters add excitement for families.

The Red, White and Lights Wine Walk returns Dec. 11, offering an after-hours experience under the stars for adults 21 and older.

The 4-acre property, designed by First Choice Lights, dazzles with thousands of displays and fresh photo opportunities in crowd-favorite areas like Candyland. Other highlights include:”There’s always something new to discover, and seeing families experience it is magical,” Hyttinen said.

Lights on the Farm supports the museum’s mission to preserve North Texas’ rural heritage beyond the glow.

“By day, it’s an educational site hosting thousands of students, and by night it becomes a glowing, joyful place for families and visitors of all ages,” Hyttinen said. “The event lets families make memories while experiencing the farm in a new way, connecting with history, community and the season’s spirit.”

Parking is free at BT Furnishings. Overflow parking and shuttles are available at Custer and 15th near Pickleball Kingdom.

Online pre-registration offers savings: $15 for adults and $10 for children. The event is entirely cashless, so all tickets and purchases must be made with cards or mobile payments.

The experience has become a Plano holiday tradition that feels like home, described as joyful, quaint and safe.

“It’s less about rushing through the lights and more about slowing down, connecting and making memories,” Hyttinen said.
