Met Eireann have warned of an “unsettled turn” coming down the line as temperatures are to drop after the current heatwave.
The capital has been basking in the sun this week, with temperatures potentially set to get up to 27C on Friday. But by Sunday, things are set to drop back down to between 15-20C.
And while the weather will remain mostly dry, Met Eireann has warned of things “turning more unsettled as an Atlantic regime takes hold”. Today, meanwhile, Dubliners are waking up to a misty and foggy morning, making for difficult early travelling conditions.
This should clear, however, to reveal a dry, bright, and warm day, with top temperatures of 25C in light to moderate southeast breezes. Tonight will be mild and humid, with the risk of some thundery downpours, and lowest temperatures of 13C.
And here is what Met Eireann has to say for the next few days:
Overview: Turning more unsettled as an Atlantic regime takes hold.
Friday: Friday will be very warm or hot. Overall dry with spells of high summer sunshine, however showers may break out locally. Humid with top temperatures of 23 to 27 degrees, in mostly moderate southeast breezes.
Saturday: While warm sunshine is expected, a scattering of showers will occur too, some heavy and possibly thundery. Top temperatures of 19 to 25 degrees, warmest across the eastern half of the country, all in a light to moderate southwest wind.
Sunday: Fresher and breezier than recent days with highest temperatures of 15 to 20 degrees, best values further east. Some sunny spells but showery rain too, all with rather brisk westerly winds.
Early next week: Similar conditions will likely prevail with fresh westerly winds steering in a scattering of passing showers; sunshine at times in between.
