A federal grand jury indicted former South Carolina pastor John Paul Miller for cyberstalking his ex-wife in the months preceding her death.
On Thursday in Columbia, a grand jury indicted the former Myrtle Beach pasture on allegations that Miller, 46, engaged in a sustained campaign of unwanted messages that were harassing in nature against his ex-wife, Mica Miller.
According to the indictment, Miller sent a series of harassing messages beginning in November 2022. The digital stalking reportedly continued until April 27, 2024, the day of Mica’s passing, according to WRAL.
He allegedly posted nude photos of the victim online, placed tracking monitors on her vehicle and damaged her tires.
The former pastor has also been accused of abuse, following her, and grooming her from a young age through the church.
Mica Miller took her own life at Lumber River State Park in North Carolina, as CrimeOnline previously reported. She and her husband were in the midst of divorce proceedings at the time of her death.
Beyond the stalking charges, the indictment claims that Miller provided false statements during interviews with federal agents.
For the cyberstalking charges, Miller could face a maximum of five years, WRAL reported. He is also looking at possibly two years for the false statements he provided. The fines he could incur could reach up to $250,000
John Miller is scheduled in federal court in Florence for his arraignment on January 12, 2026.
