Jimi Hendrix’s son, James Daniel Sundquist, is a Swedish celebrity kid who chooses to live a private life away from the spotlight. His father, Jimi, was a renowned American musician who gained tremendous fame for releasing several hit songs such as Purple Haze and Hey Joe.
The celebrity kid was born on 5 October 1969 in Stockholm, Sweden, to James Marshall Hendrix and Eva Sundquist. His father was an iconic African-American musician, singer, and songwriter.
Marshall left an indelible mark on the history of the rock genre thanks to his charismatic performances and his innovative approach to the electric guitar.
Despite the fact that his high-profile music career lasted for only four years between 1966 and 1970, Hendrix released several popular tracks such as Purple Haze, Hey Joe, and Foxy Lady.

Daniel’s parents first met in 1968 while riding on a tram. During that time, the Purple Haze singer and his band, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, were touring Stockholm, Sweden.
Hendrix and Eva began dating the following year in January, when the American singer’s band returned to Stockholm. The former lovebirds’ short-lived relationship resulted in the birth of their son, James Daniel Sundquist.
Jimi Hendrix never met his son, James Daniel Sundquist. The Foxy Lady singer died one year after his son’s birth. The popular songwriter had planned to travel to Stockholm in 1970 to meet Daniel for the first time.
Unfortunately, Hendrix died on 18 September 1970 in London before going back to Stockholm. He died of asphyxia after choking on his own vomit as a result of excessive intake of alcohol and sleeping pills.
According to Tumblr, he allegedly changed his name to Nicole Hendrix after he attempted to be a transgender female. Daniel has never talked about his transgender speculations.
In the early 2000s, his mother stated that Daniel was undergoing a gender transition and was taking hormone meds at the time.
In 1994, Daniel lost a lawsuit against his paternal grandfather in Los Angeles Superior Court because there was no paternity test ever done to prove that he was Jimi’s son. As a result, Al Hendrix inherited his son’s entire estate.
The Stockholm native had sued Al Hendrix because he wanted the court to declare him the legal heir of the musician’s estate. According to Music Lipse, during one of James Daniel Sundquist’s interviews, the Stockholm native reportedly revealed that he was not mad at his paternal grandfather. He said,
I’m not angry with Al. I just feel I’ve been treated unfairly. I want people to know that I am not a fake.
