Everton have identified Serie A right-backs Brooke Norton-Cuffy and Emil Holm as potential transfer targets in January, according to Sky Sports News journalist Lyall Thomas.
The Toffees are looking to bring in a new wide defender to David Moyes’ squad this month and are believed to be keeping close tabs on the two players.
Everton have been looking for a new right-back since the summer and are anticipated to finally accelerate their plans amid Nathan Patterson’s potential departure.
The Scotland international has emerged as a target for La Liga side Sevilla and could leave on loan before the end of the month.
Everton Eyeing Former Arsenal Starlet
According to Thomas, Everton are admirers of both Norton-Cuffy and Holm amid their emerging plans to sign a new right-back for Moyes this month.
Norton-Cuffy, who currently plays for Genoa, is an England U21 international who spent eight years at Arsenal’s academy before joining the Italian side in 2024.
The ‘incredible’ London-born defender never made a senior appearance for the Gunners before departing, but has amassed 34 games in Serie A to date, scoring one goal.
The 21-year-old has been an important part of Genoa’s squad this term, playing as a right wing-back, starting 18 of their 19 league games.
Holm, who plays for Bologna, is a 16-cap Sweden international who joined the Serie A side from fellow Italian club Spezia in the summer of 2024.
The 25-year-old has made 17 appearances for Bologna this season, scoring one goal and providing five assists.
Holm has experience of both Champions League and Europa League football, with eight appearances in continental competitions to his name.
Everton January Transfer Plans Emerge
Alongside a new right-back, Everton are also believed to be targeting a new forward this month to boost their lacklustre options up front.

The duo of Thierno Barry and Beto have only five Premier League goals between themselves in 2025/26 and Moyes is said to have made a new striker one of his January priorities.
According to reports, the Toffees have discussed a move for Wolves frontman Jorgen Strand Larsen, who is available to leave this month.
The Molineux side are believed to be open to selling the Norway international for £40m, but Strand Larsen has yet to drum up serious interest amid a difficult season, with just one goal in 19 league appearances.
