Maputo, Mozambique – Today, the European Union Military Mission in Mozambique (EUMAM MOZ) coordinated a Civil-Military Cooperation activity, marked by the donation of food supplies and making recreational activities with the children of the Association of Friends of Children Orphaned with AIDS (AACOSIDA).
With the objective of supporting immediate basic needs, and impacting the children’s quality of life, the EUMAM MOZ donated about 500 kg of basic food items, among other basic supplies. Beyond that the military personnel of EUMAM MOZ spend the afternoon making recreational activities with the children of AACOSIDA, interacting with them through traditional games, painting and other activities.
Hotel Cardoso also took part in this activity, providing the children with a snack of sandwiches, fruit, water and juice, which helped to ensure an additional meal for the youngest during the day.
AACOSIDA is a national Mozambican Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) dedicated to work for the full integration of Mozambican orphans with HIV/AIDS into their communities. This NGO takes nearly 100 children with ages between three and 18 years old, 61 of them are school age.
