Newcastle may not be scoring much, but they also don’t concede often. Nick Pope leads the league in clean sheets, even though Newcastle sit 15th in the table. Interestingly, every time they’ve picked up points this season, it has come with a clean sheet.
Defender
Since being promoted to the starting lineup, Senesi has been in impressive form. At just £4.9m and currently the top points scorer in his bracket, his upcoming home fixture makes him a strong option to consider this gameweek.
Timber has contributed not just defensively but also offensively, scoring twice already this season. With a matchup against the league’s most porous defence, he has a strong chance to extend his scoring record this gameweek, especially with West Ham’s struggle from set-pieces.
Despite being a defender, Guehi has impressed with a goal and two assists in his last four games. As captain, he plays a vital role in driving Palace forward, who now sit third in the league.
Midfielder
With Madueke sidelined, Saka has the perfect opportunity to return to the starting lineup now that he is fully fit. While his price tag is on the higher side, a home clash against West Ham at the Emirates, combined with his potential as a long-term asset, makes him a strong consideration for your squad.
Tottenham have looked impressive going forward under their new manager this season, but Palhinha remains a standout for consistency. While not among the top point earners, the defensive midfielder has contributed on both ends of the pitch, scoring twice already this campaign.
Minteh is in fine form, having contributed a goal or assist in each of his last three matches. With Wolves conceding in every league game so far this season, he has a strong chance to extend that run this week.
Forwards
Woltemade needed some time to settle in after joining late in the summer, but he has already scored twice in just three appearances. With more minutes under his belt, things are looking promising for him as the season progresses.
Haaland is in razor-sharp form, needing only minutes to score a brace last gameweek. He now sits on 8 goals and an assist since the start of the season — double the tally of the second-placed scorer. As expensive as he is, Haaland continues to prove he’s worth every penny.
