Newly crowned ONE bantamweight MMA world champion ‘The Tormentor’ Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu of Mongolia still cannot fathom winning the ONE world title, even with the gold around his waist.
Baatarkhuu captured the bantamweight MMA gold with a fourth-round submission victory over ‘Wonder Boy’ Fabricio Andrade of Brazil in the main event of ONE Fight Night 38: Andrade vs. Baatarkhuu on Prime Video.
Speaking to veteran ONE Championship reporter Nick Atkin in a recent interview, Baatarkhuu spoke about his journey leading up to this point in his career, and he never doubted himself, even when things felt impossible.
‘The Tormentor’ said:
“I always had this little hope that I could achieve something great in MMA. But then I believed in myself, and I kept it, and I worked hard. What I mean by worked hard means, overall, I’ve been training for over 25 years, and in the last nine years, I worked really hard and prepared myself very well, at the highest level.”
Fans in the United States and Canada can catch all the action of ONE Fight Night 38: Andrade vs. Baatarkhuu on Prime Video via replay on demand with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
‘The Tormentor’ Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu isn’t content with just winning the ONE bantamweight MMA world title. He has eyes on the ONE featherweight MMA world title as well.
“What I mean is, every MMA athlete has this dream to fight and become a two-division champion. You know what I mean? Christian Lee fought in two different weight divisions, so why can’t I do that too? I think it’s a great goal.”
