PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Perry Police are asking for the public’s help in locating Genia Vickers, who has been classified as an endangered missing person.
According to police, Vickers was last heard from on June 23, 2025, and was last seen walking near Sam Nunn Boulevard in Perry.
“The last date of contact we had with her was June 23rd of last year, and since that time, there’s been no other contact with any family or friends or law enforcement,” said Detective Sergeant Ike Wilcox with the Perry Police Department.
Vickers was officially reported missing on January 25, 2026. Wilcox explained the delay in reporting stemmed from a misunderstanding within the family.
“It was brought to concern by some out-of-town family,” Wilcox said. “They had spoken with Miss Vickers’ mother who lives here in Perry and that’s where she was staying. The mother believed that she had reported her missing, but she actually did not.”
Police say the extended period without contact, combined with medical concerns, led investigators to classify the case as endangered. Since the report was filed, authorities have shared information across law enforcement networks throughout the Southeast and followed up on numerous tips.
“We’ve also received multiple tips through Facebook, multiple calls to my phone, and emails,” Wilcox said. “We’ve followed up on all those things. We have actually identified several people who somewhat match Miss Vickers’ description, but we did identify them and they are not her.”
The Perry Police Department is urging anyone who may see Vickers or has information about her whereabouts to contact police immediately.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Perry Police Department or call 911. Police say updates will be shared through official press releases and the department’s Facebook page as new information becomes available.
