In a huge night for the city, Worcester Warriors ran back out on the pitch at Sixways Stadium in their iconic blue and gold strip for the first time in 1091 days, greeted by an uproar of cheers from the home support.

The side took the lead early and after some back-and-forth, headed into the break with a slim advantage.
Reigning Premiership champions Bath would walk ultimately walk away 33-19 victors when the final whistle blew, but for many fans the evening wasn’t simply about the score line but seeing their side finally back on home turf again.
“It was definitely emotional,” Everard told Worcester News after the match. “I’ve thought about that moment a lot of times, thought about the lads running out for that first home game a lot – it was even better than I imagined, really emotional.
“I am so grateful to the fans. How they were, what they gave us, how patient they’ve been, the support they’ve given us so far throughout – really grateful.”

From the fan’s forums, to the open training sessions and the incredible atmosphere created by the fans last night, Everard said the side’s return was one his players won’t forget.
He added: “We’re proud. I’m proud of the lads.
“It’s a special story and journey that they are creating together.
“This will be a moment they won’t forget as a part of it on the story that we’re on and their careers in general – you don’t forget nights like this.
