CEO Linda Yaccarino told the Financial Times that X (formerly Twitter) is nearing the launch of its much-anticipated “super app,” which will offer trading and investment services to users.
Billionaire owner Elon Musk has long envisioned X as an “everything app,” seamlessly integrating social media and financial services.
While Yaccarino didn’t confirm any crypto-specific plans, speculation around Dogecoin’s inclusion remains strong, especially given Musk’s well-documented support for the token.
With pro-crypto legislation gaining momentum, the strong institutional demand and market sentiment turning bullish, it would be surprising if digital assets weren’t part of X’s broader fintech push.
Dogecoin’s price chart may already be front-running the news. The price appears to be forming a solid bottom, with a bullish golden cross rapidly approaching. Smart money investors are already positioning, keeping DOGE on their list of best meme coins to buy.
In her recent X interview, Yaccarino confirmed Elon Musk’s vision of X as a one-stop shop for messaging, payments, and shopping.
“You’ll be able to come to X and be able to transact your whole financial life on the platform”, she told the Financial Times. She added, “A whole commerce ecosystem and a financial ecosystem is going to emerge on the platform that does not exist today”.
X has already confirmed the debut of X Money later this year, which will include a digital wallet and a peer-to-peer investment service in partnership with Visa.
Yaccarino has now confirmed that the super app will soon allow investments and trading services.
Despite no official comments on whether Dogecoin or other crypto assets will be included, it’s hard to imagine they won’t be, especially given the strong institutional and retail demand, coupled with the current US administration’s pro-crypto stance.
Large-cap crypto assets are no longer taboo for “serious” businesses. With strong institutional demand for Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP, and major financial and consumer-facing companies entering the stablecoin space, X wouldn’t need to provide much justification to offer digital asset services.
Even Musk’s favourite cryptocurrency, Dogecoin, is likely being viewed as a commodity by the US Securities and Exchange Commission, considering the high spot DOGE ETF approval odds.
The Trump administration’s pro-crypto stance, combined with Musk’s brief but influential involvement in government, suggests there’s a strong likelihood that X will secure the necessary licenses and approvals to offer digital asset investments and trading services.
The Dogecoin price chart is signalling a potential bottom, with the top meme coin holding firm above the key $0.16 support level.
A highly bullish golden cross is also approaching, as the 10-week SMA (green) prepares to cross above the 20-week SMA (pink). Historically, this pattern has preceded explosive rallies in DOGE, most notably a nearly 200% surge in November 2024.
If Elon Musk’s X decides to integrate Dogecoin into its financial services platform, it could serve as the catalyst that finally sends DOGE to $1.
There is already significant retail demand for Dogecoin across X. Think of it as a Wall Street Bets-style mania, only larger, louder, and with Musk directly in the mix.
