The All Progressives Congress (APC) has hit back at former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, after he warned that Nigeria’s social unity could collapse if President Bola Tinubu wins a second term in 2027.
Speaking at an African Democratic Congress (ADC) event in Sokoto over the weekend, El-Rufai criticised the Tinubu administration over lack of direction.
In response, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka described El-Rufai as “a political clown” who has been in “a tailspin” since losing out on a ministerial appointment.
“His speedy fall from commanding heights to the political clown he has become needs forensic study,” Morka said in a statement.
He accused El-Rufai and his ADC allies of bringing “nothing to the political table except oversized ego, wild entitlement, and desperate ambition.
“El-Rufai and his partners in ADC are the most confused, clueless, rudderless and pitiful opposition politicians our country has ever known,” he emphasized.
Morka said El-Rufai had offered no realistic alternatives to current government policies.
“If they hate our reforms so much, why haven’t they shown how they would bring back fuel subsidies or fix the naira without wrecking the economy?”
He added, “Nigerians will continue to support our great party and renew President Tinubu’s mandate in 2027.”
