Eight coppers from Durham Police have been put on gardening leave following claims of alleged misconduct during a holiday to Spain. A sergeant, six PCs and a special constable all based in Chester-le-Street were suspended in October last year.
They’re now under the microscope for allegations that they didn’t maintain professional behaviour standards, as stated by Durham Police. The force’s professional standards department is spearheading the investigation into the officers’ conduct while they were not at work.
A spokeswoman for Durham Police confirmed: “The investigation is ongoing and all eight remain under suspension.”
As per a report in The Northern Echo, the investigation is centred around alleged antics on a “booze-fuelled” trip to Spain which involves an inappropriate tattoo, reports the Liverpool Echo.
