Viewers have been left ‘crying’ after Edinburgh actor Mark Bonnar departed the Traitors castle.
After the stars were deadlocked over who to vote out, the 56-year-old’s fate was left in the hands of two mysterious chests when he and David Olusoga were up for banishment. Host Claudia Winkleman told the two celebrities that whoever opened their box to find a shield would be saved, and keep their place at the roundtable – for now.
Mark then opened an empty chest, bidding farewell to his fellow contestants. Appearing deflated, he told them: “I think you are all brilliant and I have had the best time with all of you. Thank you for making it so memorable.
“I am and always have been and always wanted to be a Faithful.”
Mark then appeared on Traitors Uncloaked with host Ed Gamble, where the identity of the Traitors was revealed to him. As he folded back the paper, Mark saw the name Jonathan.
He told Ed: “I knew it. Jonathan f***ing Ross.
“Right, wow. Well played man. He’s really good at it.”
Then seeing the name Cat, and appearing frustrated, he added: “Man she’s good.
“I wasn’t on to her. I thought she was 100 per cent Faithful. This is exhausting.”

He is then given the name Alan, to which he responded: “Oh, it’s Alan.
“Well played. On our walk out from the Traitor choice table, and I glanced at him.
“I thought, ‘oh’. I’ve never mentioned it again. Oh man.”
The remaining contestants watched in shock on Thursday night as no Traitors – Alan Carr, Jonathan Ross, and Cat Burns – have been eliminated yet. Yet again Alan put on an Oscar award winning performance pretending to be a Faithful as he apologised for pushing the Mark agenda around the round table.
Claudia rounded around the remaining celebrities and demanded they start to shake up. She stated: “Faithfuls, you are breaking my heart, you are not getting it. What are you not seeing? You have to open your eyes, please, because there is no let up.
“Almost half of you have gone. Traitors, aren’t you having a brilliant game? Congratulations.”

Viewers were quick to take to X, formally known as Twitter, to discuss Mark’s banishment. One viewer wrote: “Mark deserved better than to go because he pulled a face 5 days ago,” alongside a crying face emoji.
While another stated: “What do you meaaannnnn Mark has gone?”
With a third penning: “It all came down to the chests of chance and it went the wrong way for Mark Bonnar. And once again, it’s another faithful gone. It’s looking wonderful for the traitors.”
As another saddened fan said: “Why am I crying over Mark leaving on the traitors, he just wanted to play the game… if Nick leaves I honestly don’t know what I’ll do…,” with multiple sad face emojis.
Although the Traitors did not stop there, as it was time to discuss who was next to be murdered. Cat suggested that Joe Wilkinson was the next celeb they needed to murder, while Jonathan suggested Kate Garraway. All three of the Traitors went on to discuss the pros and cons of “murdering” Sir Stephen Fry.
They finally decided on “murdering” Joe Wilkinson, as he didn’t show up to breakfast. With Joe telling the cameras: “I sort of expected it because I was a bit lippy last night.”
