An Edinburgh The Chase contestant has irked viewers after he was knocked out at the first hurdle.
The ITV quiz show saw Oscar, originally from the capital but now living in Bristol, play alongside Helen from Somerset, James from London and Leonardo from Eastbourne.
Oscar, 32, who works as a general store manager for a luxury beauty retailer, went second to take on The Dark Destroyer, Shaun Wallace, on Tuesday night’s show.
If he won the money, he said he would put the winnings towards a house deposit as he continues to save funds.
He accumulated £4,000 in his cash builder against Shaun – which saw him get knocked out after four questions.
However it was the first question that had viewers sharing their thoughts on his answer. Bradley asked Oscar: “Unruly: A History of England’s Kings and Queens is a 2023 book by which comedian?”
Oscar was asked to pick between Jimmy Carr, David Mitchell and Rob Brydon – unfortunately he picked the wrong answer with Jimmy Carr and said: “Literally the only one I know and he’s quite literate when he speaks.”
After being sent home, fans of the show took to social media to share their frustration.
One person said: “How can a fully grown adult in the UK not know who Rob Brydon is?”

Another wrote: “I hate young contestants who say “before my time”. They only want questions about things that happened in the last 10 years.”
A third said: “So… Oscar the TikToker’s gone and foxtrotted off already, eh.”
The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV1 and ITVX
