A trio of Edinburgh teens have been charged in connection with “racially aggravated” assaults.
Two teen girls aged 13 and 14, along with a teen boy aged 15 were slapped with eight charges total.
The incidents took place on Monday, October 6 in the Fountainbridge and Meadows.
Five charges were unprovoked and racially aggravated while a further three were unprovoked assaults, according to Police Scotland.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Two females aged 13 and 14 and a male aged 15 have been charged in relation to five unprovoked, racially aggravated assaults and three further unprovoked assaults.
“These all occurred in the Fountainbridge and Meadows areas of Edinburgh on Monday 6th October.
“Police Constable Storer from the Community Policing Team said, ‘Extensive enquiries have been conducted to trace these individuals.
“No one should be subjected to violence when going about their daily business. I want to thank members of the public who contacted Police in relation to these incidents and reassure the public that such behaviour will not be tolerated.'”
