Another arrest has been made in connection with two alleged gangland firebombings in Edinburgh.
Operation Portaledge detectives have now made 49 arrests over a series of violence incidents in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
On Tuesday, June 24, a 17-year-old male was detained in connection with a wilful fire on Niddrie Marischal Crescent and Campion Road during the early hours of Monday, June 9.
At the time we reported how a plush Range Rover was allegedly set on fire outside a home on Campion Road which left nothing but the burnt out shell of the motor and debris strewn across the street.
Locals reported a strong smell of smoke in the area into the afternoon as the street was cordoned off by police. It was the second time a home on the street had been targeted in the ongoing underworld feud.
On the same night a van on the nearby Niddrie Marischal Crescent was torched following gunshots being fired at an address on the same street in March.
The incidents are understood to have been orchestrated by Dubai-based Ross McGill who is waging war on those associated with cocaine kingpin Mark Richardson and the Daniel clan based in the west of the country.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A further arrest has been made in connection with the investigation into violent incidents in the East and West of the country.

“This arrest brings the total related to Operation Portaledge so far to 49.
“A 17-year-old man has been arrested and charged in relation to two wilful fireraisings in Edinburgh during the early hours of Monday, 9 June, 2025, in Niddrie Marischal Crescent and Campion Road.
“The 17-year-old was arrested on Tuesday, 24 June, 2025. He was released on an undertaking to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court at a later date.”
