The victim of an Edinburgh Ryanair steward convicted of assault has spoken out following his trial.
The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, said Clinton McArthur, from Dalry, stopped her seeing friends and left her terrified.
The twisted abuser seized her body and wouldn’t allow her to leave, a court has found. The 28-year-old was brought before the Glasgow Sheriff Court charged with an assault offence near the end of last year.
On November 10 2024, McArthur assaulted the woman by repeatedly seizing her on the body and refusing to allow her to leave at Turnyhill Road, East Dunbartonshire.
During the attack, he attempted to seize a mobile phone from her, pushed her on the body and caused her to strike a wall.

Additionally, the court found he pursued her, pulled her from a car and pushed her into the property – all to her injury.
Speaking to Edinburgh Live, the victim said: “He was controlling, I never realised what he was doing to me.
“He didn’t allow me to see my friends. I am having to overcome all this by myself just now.
“My experience was he approached me even at work. He wouldn’t leave me alone. He kept continuing to pester me until eventually he hurt me.
“I’m petrified. I don’t want to see this man again. He likes to manipulate women.”
McArthur worked for Ryanair operating out of Edinburgh Airport. He served flights from Edinburgh to European locations such as Prague, Malta, Girona, Alicante, Paloma, and Krakov.
Glasgow Sheriff Court confirmed McArthur was found guilty of the assault by trial on May 29, 2025. The trial began on the May 28 and lasted two days.
