As our News Sentinel Charities Empty Stocking Fund efforts are about to ramp up for the holiday season, “East Tennessee Now” welcomed two of our leaders to talk about the century-plus charity.
This Christmas, we will distribute 3,000 family meal boxes to families across East Tennessee. It’s one of the ways we’ve partnered with readers since the early 1900s to help neighbors in need.
Listen to “East Tennessee Now” on Oct. 26 as Frank Murphy interviews two of our board members, Knox News Executive Editor Joel Christopher and Communities Editor Jennifer Dedman. “East Tennessee Now” is a public affairs show that airs on WJXB, WIMZ, WDKW and WNFZ on Sunday mornings and is released as a podcast.
Christopher and Dedman will talk about the history of the nonprofit, which is 100% volunteer-run with no overhead or employee salaries, and how to get involved now.
Donations are welcome throughout the year at esfknox.org! Help us as we prepare to put together nutritious boxes with ingredients for a festive holiday meal plus staples to get through the week.
