Emergency services in East Lothian were called to the scene of a serious crash on Monday morning.
Police, paramedics and fire crews were seen on the B6371 on the outskirts of Tranent at around 11am on October 20. Locals who witnessed the incident said it appeared to involve a van that flipped on its side after veering off the road.
The condition of those involved is not currently known. According to residents, the driver of the van was ‘cut out through the roof of the vehicle’.
Images from the scene show an ambulance, multiple fire engines and police cars parked on the road.
One witness passing said: “Police blocked either side of the road. Traffic was diverted. The van appears to have crashed over an embankment and rolled. The roof is visibly removed to cut it open to get whoever out.
“Two ambulances, two fire engines and about five police cars.”
Police Scotland, The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and The Scottish Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
