West Coast have made yet another off-season change to their football department, with strength and conditioning coach Mark Kilgallon joining another WA sporting club.
Kilgallon, who has spent the past three years with the Eagles, has joined the Western Force as head of athletic performance for the Super Rugby Pacific squad.
The Irish native will start in his new role on November 3, a week before West Coast’s first-to-fourth year players are due to return for the start of pre-season.
“I’m really looking forward to starting in the role,” Kilgallon told club media.
“Speaking with Crono (head coach Simon Cron) and the staff, we’re really excited about the group of players they’ve put together. I can’t wait to come in, help the squad get better and show it on the field.
“I’ve worked in rugby before and I’m looking forward to getting back into the sport and the challenge ahead at the Force.”
Kilgallon’s departure is the latest confirmed change to the club’s football department, which followed fitness guru Mat Inness leaving the club and joining Victorian rival Essendon.
Former caretaker Jarrad Schofield and long-time assistant Luke Webster have also left the Eagles, while ruck coach Ryan Turnbull stepped away following Andrew McQualter’s first season as senior coach.
The mass changes continue an off-season overhaul which includes the departures of co-captain Oscar Allen, premiership forward Liam Ryan and former first-round pick Campbell Chesser.
West Coast also made several other list changes with wingman Jayden Hunt joining Jeremy McGovern and Dom Sheed in retirement, while the club delisted Callum Jamieson, Loch Rawlinson and Jack Petruccelle.
