With the colder months setting in and the darker nights arriving, it can feel a bit gloomy as we hit so-called cosy season. But the changing of the seasons can present an opportunity to give decor a bit of a freshen up – with one of the easiest ways to give a bedroom a bit of a lift coming via a new duvet set.
And Dunelm shoppers have been singing the praises of one stylish design that’s said to not only look good, but also to offer a “soft and cosy” feel come bedtime. The Heritage 100% Brushed Cotton Duvet Cover & Pillowcase Set typically costs £20 for a double, but there’s a clever way to effectively bring the price down by £15 by using deals website TopCashback.
Using TopCashback’s £15 signup bonus brings the price down to £4.65 after cashback (for new members of TopCashback and new customers of Dunelm). Meanwhile, for those who are new to TopCashback but already existing Dunelm customers, the price is slightly more – £4.83 after cashback.
Dunelm isn’t the sole retailer offering bedding bargains, with Debenhams also slashing substantial discounts off numerous sets. One such choice is the Christy 100% Organic Cotton Duvet Cover Set.
That’s priced at £35.20 to £54.40 – a 36% reduction on the standard retail cost. It’s available in four shades – white, beige, pink and green – though some dimensions are unavailable in particular colours.
Meanwhile, Dusk offers an affordable alternative with the Cambridge 200 Thread Count Duvet Cover, priced at £15 for a single, £25 for a double, £30 for a king size and £35 for a super king.
Of the reviews left to date, Dunelm’s Heritage bedding has averaged a very high 4.9 stars out of 5. One said: “This duvet cover is gorgeous. It really is everything you’d expect from the picture. The colours are true and it’s as soft as you would expect it to be from brushed cotton. It’s of good quality too and not at all flimsy. It washed lovely and it’s toasty warm which is perfect for this cold weather.”
Another continued: “Lovely and soft and oh so cosy. This will keep us warm in the coming winter nights.”
While a third went on: “Gorgeous great value lovely autumn colours washed well.” Despite the positive feedback, there were a couple of less satisfied reviews.
One buyer gave three stars, though didn’t really elaborate on what their issue was: “I’ve got to admit that I was very surprised that this was 100% cotton. It does feel quite soft. It’s reversible so handy if you want a change. I’m not sure how long it will last but it’s warm and very cheap and autumnal/Christmassy – so great for this time of year.”
A four-star review said: “The duvet cover is warm and very attractive. The fabric is a little thin. It has been washed and has not shrunk.”
