A Dublin restaurant will donate all the profits they make from their steak and chips this weekend to charities aiding Gaza.
Brazilian restaurant Rei Momo are offering up steak frites with their famous chimichurri sauce for just €19 all weekend. And the Drury Street eatery are looking for “as many of you as possible to come and have a nice time in the name of peace” today and tomorrow.
They posted on Instagram: “We are very aware of our massive privilege to have a laugh over steak frites. And to watch the world completely collapse around us doesn’t sit right.
“We have limited skills or power to help. But we know some people are giving their lives to do so. So laughs aside, we’re donating every penny from sales of “steak frites” this weekend to those fighting for the right for humans to live in peace.
“We don’t want this to be a commercial exercise. That’s why we are not keeping a penny and we want as many of you as possible to come and have a nice time in the name of peace.
“Come and eat. Come and enjoy. And remember. We must learn to live together as brothers and sisters, or perish together as fools.
“Anyone with connections to charities hit us up in messages. We will also be reviewing our supplier lists and products to ensure we are not funding a Genocide in anyway. Help also welcome. Love ya.”
