Mark King told The Nugget that his delegation met Minister of Red Tape Reduction Andrea Khanjin during this last weekend’s Rural Ontario Municipal Association conference (ROMA) in Toronto, asking her to consider adding early childhood educators to the Ontario Learn and Stay Grant program.
The grant currently provides money for post-secondary students who are studying to become paramedics, registered practical nurses, registered nurses, and medical laboratory technologists, and are willing to work in underserved and growing communities in Northern, Southwestern and Eastern Ontario after graduation.
