New Delhi: On the occasion of Diwali, the government opened its coffers for farmers. The government increased sugarcane prices, bringing a sense of relief to farmers. The price of sugarcane has increased by ₹15 per quintal. The new price of sugarcane has now reached ₹415 per quintal.
Previously, sugarcane was selling for ₹400 per quintal. This decision was taken by the Haryana government. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, making this announcement on the occasion of Diwali, has provided significant relief to farmers. On the occasion of Diwali, the Haryana government brought light into the lives of farmers. As a gift to farmers, the government announced an increase in sugarcane prices by ₹15 per quintal. An official statement stated that the price of early varieties of sugarcane has been increased from Rs. 400 to Rs. 415.
The price of late varieties has now increased from Rs. 393 to Rs. 408 per quintal. The Chief Minister stated that this decision, while beneficial to farmers, will also boost the agricultural economy. This is being considered a Diwali gift for farmers. Farmers’ organisations have also been demanding an increase in sugarcane rates.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said on Sunday that his government is working for the welfare of farmers, the underprivileged, youth, and women. The government’s mission is to ensure everyone’s commitment to development.
He asserted that the government’s policies are transparent and intentional, and that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, development work in the state is progressing three times faster than before. He further stated that his government has been working on the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas” (Together with all, development for all, trust for all) and will continue to do so.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini stated that all crops have been procured at the minimum support price. In the past 11 crop seasons, substantial sums have been transferred to the accounts of 1.2 million farmers. According to a report, an amount of ₹154,000 has been directly transferred to farmers’ accounts. The CM also highlighted the enactment of the Haryana Agricultural Land Lease Bill 2024.
