Mingtiandi’s sixth annual APAC Data Centre Forum returns on Tuesday with a look at the Southeast Asia market with guests from Digital Realty, NTT Global Data Centres and Baker McKenzie in a panel discussion exploring the forces driving Asia’s fastest growing digital infrastructure market.
The panel, which is sponsored by Yardi, is the first of four sessions this week dedicated to Asia’s data centre markets, with a panel on Thursday focused on the Japan and Korea markets featuring speakers from Goldman Sachs, NTT Global Data Centres, DCI Data Centres and industry information provider DC Byte.
Also coming your way this week is a spotlight interview with a top executive from Bain Capital-backed Bridge Data Centres and a one-on-one catch-up with Rangu Salgame, chairman, co-founder and chief executive of Princeton Digital Group.
Across the sessions this week, Mingtiandi will be asking industry leaders for their insights on what is shaping up to be a record year for real estate investment in Asia Pacific and discussing the impact of AI on the future shape of the industry. The Southeast Asia panel on Tuesday starts at 10:00 AM Hong Kong time and brings together Yasuo Suzuki, executive vice president and managing director for Asia Pacific with NTT Global Data Centres, Woon Teng Koh, senior director for acquisitions with Digital Realty and Baker McKenzie partner Robert Wright for a look at markets in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and beyond.
With data centre platforms having announced more than 24GW of new projects across Southeast Asia last year, according to DC Byte, Mingtiandi will be asking its guests for their insights on the forces driving this demand and what to expect next from digital infrastructure in the region.
On Wednesday, Mingtiandi founder Michael Cole will sit down with Kevin Guan, chief investment officer and executive vice president for new business and capital markets with Bridge Data Centres to learn more about what comes next for the Bain Capital-backed firm after Bain last week agreed to sell its China data centre business for nearly $4 billion.
That session will also take place at 10:00 AM Hong Kong time.
Mingtiandi’s data centre forum continues on Thursday with our exploration of the Japan and Korea markets, also at 10:00 AM Hong Kong time.
In that panel, Yasuo Suzuki, executive vice president and managing director for APAC at NTT Global Data Centres; Phillipa Weber, executive director for asset management at Goldman Sachs; Dae Hyun Choi, head of Asia investments at DCI Data Centres; and Jingwen Ong, APAC research manager at DC Byte will discuss what investors should expect from Japan’s mature market and Korea’s development opportunities.
The data centre forum will conclude on Friday with a spotlight interview with Rangu Salgame of PDG.
Salgame, who co-founded the Singapore-based company with Warburg Pincus in 2017, joins us after his company closed on a $1.3 billion investment from StonePeak last month and will share what comes next for one of Asia’s largest data centre platforms.
