Another Thursday and another TWID, and I couldn’t be happier for this week’s announcements. The road to Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate is getting shorter every day, and to build up hype, Bungie has unveiled many changes coming to some of the game’s core systems, including reputation and vendors. Newcomers might not see this as a big thing, but those who’ve been in the game for almost a decade will find some of these changes quite refreshing and welcome. So, let’s dive into what this TWID is all about.
While we’ll be focusing on the core system changes that will make the game more approachable for new Guardians, here’s the link to the TWID if you want to read the weapon tuning part and some Rite of the Nine information. If you prefer to learn about the other aforementioned changes, stick around.
The most surprising thing is that when Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate lands, every reputation system will disappear from all vendors in the Tower, except for Hawthorne, who will get no significant changes.
As you can see, Bungie is looking for a way to simplify how players will obtain currencies, which is a win in my book. As someone who joined the game not long ago, it was confusing to see where I’d get certain things. I shamefully admit that it took me a while to discover how the reputation part works. But now, we’ll get gear and currencies by just playing the game, which sounds way simpler.
Of course, this will also affect many of the vendors in the game, as Bungie has stated, and here are some of the changes coming to Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate.
On top of that, players who want to try some of the game’s past content will get to do so during the Destiny 2 Expansion Open Access. All available expansions will be available for free from July 8 to July 22. So, if you want to catch up with the story or try different content, now’s the perfect time.
